MnCAAN is a network of Minnesotans dedicated to fostering the vital relationship between creative expression and healthy aging.

Our guiding principle is that older people can improve their health, enrich their lives, and contribute to the artistic culture of a community through active participation in creative arts activities.

Our mission is to expand opportunities for creative expression by older adults through the arts.

Welcome to the Minnesota Creative Arts and Aging Network (MnCAAN) Website

We are developing this interactive website to enable you to connect with us and with other people who share our vision.

The MnCAAN website will serve as the primary "place to go" for the exchange of information and ideas between Minnesota individuals and organizations who wish to come together in activities related to creativity and aging.

It will be a highly interactive statewide meeting place that will provide:

  • a connection between older adults and creative arts activities in and around their communities;
  • a comprehensive calendar of events and news from arts and aging resources throughout Minnesota;
  • a portal for Care Service Providers to share ideas with their peers and their communities;
  • creative models that can be emulated by Care Service Providers;
  • "how to" guides and external resources for Care Service Providers seeking funding for arts activities;
  • artistic resources and tools for family and informal caregivers;
  • partnership opportunities with artists who want to work with older adults;
  • an artist roster with biographies and contact information;
  • an art gallery showcasing the work of older adults 50+;
  • opportunities to share ideas via blogs

Our commitment is to:
• become the identified "place to go" for inspiration, information and referrals about arts and aging in Minnesota;

The people of Minnesota we want to serve and connect with are diverse:
• 50+ adults who want to access and participate in community arts activities, such as theatre, music and dance, gallery crawls, visual arts classes, writing workshops, creative arts camps, etc.
