ARTIST ROSTER - THEATRE

Harry LeBlanc

Minneapolis

Arts of Passage is a center for arts-based therapy specializing in expressive arts therapy and drama therapy. We also train others in the therapeutic and transformational use of the arts, especially including drama.

Drama therapy is a powerful, flexible approach to using the dramatic arts to help people change, heal, and grow ranging from intensely personal therapy in the privacy of the studio to full-blown self-revelatory performances presented live before an audience. One application of particular interest to older adults is to create performances that explore the stories of their own lives—life reviews as theatre. This hybrid approach draws on elements from self-revelatory theatre, playback, and psychodrama to produce emotionally powerful and aesthetically beautiful original enactments of life scenes.
