Lynn Beytien

St. Paul

As a painter for more than 25 years I'm eager to share my expertise with others. I have volunteered at St. Joseph’s Home for Children in Minneapolis doing crafts, and doing art projects at the Wilder Foundation in St. Paul, which is a place for troubled children. I also work as a dietary aid at a senior center. I received my degree in commercial art in 1972 and since then have worked on a commission basis doing watercolor portraits of people and animals. I would like to transfer these experiences to an older generation as I am constantly working on some art project. It’s fun and rewarding to share my experience with others.perform these pieces outside of St. Therese. Tales from a Trunk performances include folk tales, holiday, and Shakespeare stories.

Wood-burning is one technique I enjoy teaching. One project I am currently working on is wood-burning lazy Susans from Ikea and thrift store finds with nature scenes, and then using color pencils to add color, and finishing them with polyurethane. I’ve completed several commissioned watercolor portraits of people and animals and have been a member of the Minnesota Watercolor Society. I love color and would like to share the fun of working with it.
