I am an artist/teacher interested in working with senior citizens in a nursing home, senior community or assisted living environment. My emphasis is on creative art and related activites.I have been teaching art classes at Episcopal Church Homes and in assisted living environments for over 10 years. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and a teaching certificate in Art Education from the University of Minnesota. I attended the Womens Art Institute at MCAD in 2001. My emphasis is in drawing, painting, watercolor and pastel..

In my art classes, I attempt to provide an environment that encourages the exploration and creation of art through the manipulation of a variety of materials and tactile experiences that engage and encourage the use and involvement of hands, hearts and minds. These include drawing, oil pastel, watercolor, collage, clay modeling and sculpture which I adapt to the needs and abilities of the group participants. The resident art has been shared with other groups and institutions throughout the city and several pieces were included in a national art exhibit in Washington DC.
