PROVIDER PROFILE

Common Sense Services

Founded in 1990, Common Sense Services is dedicated "to work toward strengthening peoples' abilities and dignity...with respect and integrity." Our center offers our neighborhood a "one-stop shopping" resource for community-based services. Our hours are flexible to meet the needs of caregivers employed outside the home, and programming is constantly renewed and invigorated by customer preference.  Our core services include homemaking, personal care assistance, "bed and breakfast" at the center, and a therapeutic support center offering services that restore and maintain function in people with acute and chronic physical conditions.

We have now added a new opportunity to "Uncork Creativity" for older people, young artists, and artists of any age to discover together and fulfill the promise of this truly creative time of life.  "Our willingness to embrace the challenge and (this) opportunity will define the legacy that each of us builds, and the gift that each of us gives, in every season of our lives" (Gene D. Cohen, M.D., Ph.D., The Creative Age)

Art students from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design are provided internship learning opportunities while offering arts activities at Common Sense.
